The long game

I'm playing the long game
I'm a hopeless romantic
seeking a legacy of memory.

In ten... maybe twenty years
I will be gone....
.... just a memory I will be

What sort of memory do I want to be?

I want you to remember me
with fondness and love....
to remember the good times we had together
..... the dreams we shared
.... the times of tender touch

I want your memory of me
to be a constant companion through your life
..... a guide for your decisions
and a solace in the bad times

So that through your whole life
you can know.....
.... that you are worthwhile
.... that you have been loved
.... that you are loved
